At around 3:30 pm, a three car chain reaction accident on Oak St near 13th Ave. caused traffic backups today. Only one lane remained open as Police Officers directed traffic around the wreck.
Tracy Holland was the driver of an SUV that was rear-ended and she was transported by ambulance to the Dodge County Hospital.
We don’t have a name of the driver of the next vehicle that appeared to have been hit by a third vehicle, pushing his truck into the SUV. He was not injured.
The driver of the third vehicle that appeared to have initially hit the truck from behind, fled the scene when approached by a Deputy Sheriff who happened to be nearby when the accident occurred. The fleeing suspect was apprehended by Eastman Police Officers a few blocks away from the accident. He was later taken to the emergency room by Police when he complained of pain as well. The only thing known about this driver is that he is a black male with the last name of Goolsby.
The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident.
If more information becomes available I will get it out but it usually takes a week or so to get accident information from the State Patrol.
