Sixth ranked Squaws set to do battle in Eastman

The Dodge County High School basketball teams will host Washington County in Eastman on Friday, January 17 in a Region 3AAA battle. The girls game will feature two top-ten ranked teams as first year Head Coach Paula Selph’s sixth ranked Squaws (13-1) will do battle with the second ranked unbeaten Lady Hawks (13-0) of Washington County. The winner of the game will take over first place in the region at this point in the season. The Indians (3-9) will have a tough challenge in facing the the Golden Hawks (11-1) who are also ranked second in the state. The Squaws and Lady Hawks will tip-off at 7:00 pm with Indians and Golden Hawks to follow. The Dodge teams will travel to Hawkinsville on Saturday, January 18 for make-up non-region game at 6:00 pm and will host Swainsboro in a region match-up on Tuesday, January 21 at 6:00 pm

The Squaws picked up two more wins in the past week as they defeated Jefferson Co. 61-28 in a region match-up. Scoring for the Squaws was: Rachel Selph 15 points; Asia Jones 13 points; Tanasha Coley, eight points; Da’Vina Clark, six points; Kristen Hall, six points; Keyria Gordon, five points; Markesha McCloud, four points; Javonna Collins, two points; TY Northcutt, two points.  The Squaws also defeated AAAAA Warner Robins, 48-43. Scoring was: Asia Jones, 15 points including three 3-pointers; Rachel Selph, 12 points; Keyria Gordon, eight points; Markesha McCloud, eight points including two 3-pointers; Kristen Hall, three points; TY Northcutt, two points.
The Indians lost a close one at region foe Jefferson County last week, 55-58.Scoring was: Tavon Rozier, 27 points; Zalen Floyd, nine points; Alex Jordan, nine points; Maleek Graham, six points; Dorian McDuffie, three points; Demarcus McClinton, one point. The Dodge boys also lost to AAAAA Warner Robins, 52-66. Scoring was: Tavon Rozier, 34 Points; Anthony Muntford, nine points; Demarcus McClinton, five points; Dorian McDuffie, two points; Darrell Kemp, one point.
